Summer Program 2017 at the University of Tübingen
ACADEMIC PROGRAM: Students take introductory courses on European politics, history, business and law. In addition, they meet with European politicians, debate on current European affairs, and attend guest lectures by experts from different fields. Classes are small and individual mentoring is guaranteed at all times.
STUDY TRIPS: Students will visit Strasbourg and Berlin, take a tour of the European Parliament and visit influential companies (like Mercedes) in the economically strong region of Baden-Württemberg.
GERMAN LANGUAGE & CULTURE: Students will attend a German language course and gain one of the key qualifications in an increasingly globalized world: intercultural competence.
BUDDY PROGRAM: Within the Buddy Program students of the University of Tübingen accompany the IES participants during their entire stay in Tübingen. This will allow IES participants to get to know German students, and experience student life first-hand.
LOCATION: Tübingen is the ideal location for this small and highly effective academic program: it is a picturesque, safe University town and with its romantic old town it offers multiple opportunities to experience German culture.
ADMISSION: The Summer Program I is designed for undergraduate students with any kind of academic background who wish to gain a basic knowledge of Europe and the European Union from a variety of disciplinary perspectives.
The program fee includes courses, course material, study trips, accommodation as well as social activities.
